In line with its core mission of restoring lives and rekindling hope, the McSpencer Foundation embarked on a powerful community outreach in Koforidua Township, touching the lives of many homeless individuals and families living on the streets.
With the support of dedicated volunteers, donors, and local well-wishers, the Foundation provided hot meals, warm clothing, and temporary shelter items to the less fortunate — reminding them that they are not forgotten.
Nourishing the Body and Soul
Numerous plates of hot food were distributed across key points in the township, reaching children, the elderly, and struggling mothers. For many, it was the first proper meal in days.
“Thank you so much. God bless you. Today, I have eaten with joy,” one elderly recipient said, with tears in his eyes.
In addition to food, donated clothes and shoes were sorted and shared based on gender and age, bringing dignity and comfort to those enduring the harsh conditions of street life.
A Step Towards Shelter
As part of our long-term Feeding & Shelter Program, portable sleeping mats, blankets, and toiletries were also distributed. In collaboration with local churches and community centers, temporary sleeping spaces were arranged for some of the most vulnerable — especially children and women.
Community Love in Action
The outreach was led by President Eva Settor and the Foundation’s compassionate volunteer team. She shared a moving reflection:
“This is not charity — this is humanity. We are here to remind our brothers and sisters that they matter. And that there is always hope, no matter how difficult the journey has been.”
Local residents also played a key role, donating clothing and food items and assisting with logistics. The unity and collective spirit displayed throughout the day were a true testament to the power of community
